Split has its very own library bas in the honor of Marko Marulić, father of Croatian literature.
Located in the heart of Diocletian palace, it is thought to be that Marko Marulić was born in this house that now is home to Splists first library bar. When you enter the bar, the genuine stone floor is very much in place, and the authentic beams on the ceiling have been left untouched.
The book shelves in the bar were ordered from Padova, Marulic former school. One shelf is dedicated to Marulic works. In this library bar, you are encouraged to donate books you man no longer need, and to trade with others.
The Bar organizes thematic literature nights dedicated to poets and writers, as well as poetry readings for those who are feeling brave. This is perfect environment for the poetry enthusiasts and jazz lovers.
